Founded in 1931 as the Marysville Tractor & Equipment Company and Holt Brothers separately, Holt of California has come together and grown into the top rental equipment provider for our region today. We are a locally-owned and family-operated dealership for the full line of Caterpillar products for sixteen counties throughout north central California. We provide employment to over 675 people at 16 locations throughout the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys and surrounding areas. Eleven of those locations serve as The Cat Rental Store locations. 

Our rental division began in 1999 to supplement the sales of new machines and provide a supply chain of quality used equipment for sale. Over the years, Holt of California has grown The Cat Rental Store division to become one of the top providers of rental equipment in north central California. We currently have 11 rental locations with three of them in the Sacramento metropolitan area. We are the only regional rental equipment supplier with a heavy equipment paint department, machine shop, custom fabrication shop, hydraulic shop and the staff to repair every piece of equipment we offer. We take great pride in our team and our ability to service and maintain all of our equipment. We offer for rent the full line of Caterpillar products as well as allied vendors such as Genie, JLG, Multiquip, Wacker, Magnum Products and many others. 

Another big advantage to our valued customers is that Holt of California has six divisions, specializing in Power Generation, Engine, Agricultural Products, Material Handling and our Earthmoving Division. Each division is a leader in their respective markets and industries, with their own service, maintenance and parts support departments. Each division also has multiple specialized service trucks and personnel at their disposal. And as a company, each Holt of California division works together to ensure our customers have the best rental experience in the industry. 

As a full service Cat dealer, our expertise is in our equipment knowledge. It is our job to know more about equipment and its application than any of our competitors. We don't rent lawn mowers and roto-tillers; we specialize in construction equipment and pride ourselves in having the newest equipment with the most options available. We have one of the youngest rental fleets in north central California. All our technicians are factory-trained and able to diagnose and repair much of our equipment in the field, if necessary. Our sales staff is very knowledgeable and has been in the indystry for many years. We take great pride in employing the best, most qualified employees in the industry. We strive to have all our employees do their best to provide top-notch customer service to all of our valued customers. We spend time implementing programs and continuually train our employees to assure that they are at the top of their game and a valuable resource for our customers. 

Holt of California prides itself on having quality equipment that operates both properly and safely. We have a very extensive preventative maintenance program in place. We perform services every 500 hours or 90 days, whichever comes first. Typically, this is more often than most manufacturer's requirements. We track and perform regular 90-day ANSI and DOT inspections to ensure our aerial and on-highway equipment is operating safely and properly. 

Holt of California has many resources at it's disposal to provide the service necessary to support your needs. Within Holt of California, we centrally dispatch our own fleet of delivery trucks, which allows us to move equipment on and off jobsites and between stores with very little notice, maximizing our equipment availability. More often than not we are able to provide equipment within a few hours of receiving the order. It also allows us to offer more early delivery times to our customers as we are dispatching based on where we have available trucks, not waiting for a truck to be available where the equipment is sitting. We can also deliver the afternoon before for a next day start. This allows more flexibility in our trucking and also allows your crew to rest easy knowing that their machine is already on site, ready to work in the morning. Because of our extensive safety training program, our employees are qualified to familiarize your operators with the equipment upon delivery. Holt of California takes great pride in our ability to quickly, efficiently and safely accommodate the need of our customers. 

We do expect that there will be emergency orders from time to time. At Holt, we thrive on emergencies. We can respond to almost any order at any time, day or night. In the event that a situation arises, all you have to do is contact us and we will provide the necessary equipment, usually within a few hours. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you in any way we are needed.
